Dr.
M.R. Rajagopal, 2018 Nobel Peace Prize nominee and father of palliative
care in India, will be sharing his experiences as part of three events
hosted by the Emory Palliative Care Center. This is a great opportunity
for those who attended the Death Cafe last
month to deepen your understanding of palliative care. For those who did
not attend, these events will be a great introduction to this important
area of medicine. Students are welcome to attend one, two, or all three
events!

areas of discussion will include: Opioids and "non-addictive opioids"
used in India, care of the dying in India, understanding the
transformation of healthcare in the developing countries and the current
state of palliative care, understanding the cultural disparities that
influence the care of the Indian population, and strategies to provide
culturally competent care for the Indian population.
