Gap Year Opportunity: Research Assistant Position for Prospective Medical Students

The Medical University of South Carolina Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is looking to hire a prospective medical student interested in gaining clinical and research experience. A brief description of the opportunity is below:

This one-year full-time opportunity will place one recent graduate in the operating room observing shoulder and elbow surgeries weekly, in the clinic engaging and enrolling patients in a variety of outcome studies, and in the research lab assisting the physicians in countless research projects from biomechanical cadaver studies to statistical analyses of common practices and procedures to uncover their true effectiveness. The pre-medical student will be surrounded and fully engaged in the world of clinical and academic orthopaedics, gaining insight into the day-to-day of the medical field and helping contribute to the innovative research that will move the field forward.
