The Emory Tibetan Mind/Body Sciences Summer Study Abroad Program in
Dharmsala and Mundgod, India will be coordinating a five-week long study
abroad opportunity that brings together the best of both western
science and the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. Participants have the
opportunity to engage in the ongoing dialogue between modern science and
Tibetan Buddhism both in class and in
direct interaction with Tibetan monks and nuns studying neuroscience,
biology and physics. This program has attracted students from a wide
range of majors at Emory as the coursework includes the study of Tibetan
culture, Tibetan medicine, Buddhist philosophy, contemplative practice
and secular ethics.
