Reach Out and Read Volunteer Opportunity with Children's Healthcare of Atlanta

The 2017 Reach Out and Read (ROR) Holiday Book Drive, sponsored by Emory University’s PARTNERS for Equity in Child and Adolescent Health and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Hughes Spalding, is right around the corner and looking for volunteers!

What is Reach Out and Read?
The ROR Program is a partnership between Emory University’s PARTNERS for Equity in Child and Adolescent Health and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Hughes Spalding to provide new books to low-income children ages 6 months to 5 years during their visit with their pediatrician.  The pediatrician prescribes a new book to the patients as medicine for the brain, body, and overall health to promote academic readiness one new book at a time! Visit www.reachoutandread.org to learn more.

Why a holiday book drive?
This book drive allows the ROR Program to obtain more new books to serve thousands of low-income children seen at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Hughes Spalding. In-store book donations from customers during the book drive help us continue to provide children with new books to prepare them to be successful developmentally and academically.

  • Every Saturday from 11am-3pm
