Are you interested in being a part of the future of healthcare? Join other college students interested in pursuing a career in medicine for a summer of service in a hands-on, dynamic hospital setting. As a volunteer in the New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Summer College Intensive Program (SCIP) you can gain direct patient care experience and exposure to unique educational opportunities that will enrich your understanding of healthcare.
SCIP enables highly qualified college students to communicate directly
with patients, offering support and assistance during their
hospitalization. SCIP volunteers enhance the quality of care patients
receive and become an integral part of the healthcare team. In addition,
SCIP seeks to augment the education of future healthcare practitioners
by immersing them in real world healthcare situations, and guiding them
to become competent, compassionate healers.
